Peter Nelson was appointed Team Leader for an Environmental and Social Impact Assessment of the new Fisheries Development Programme for Ghana in October 2010. The assessment was conducted for the IDL Group under the guidelines of the West Africa Fisheries Programme (WARFP) of which Sierra Leone is a member.

A team of four specialists was engaged including Dr Andrew Baio of IMBO, and Dr Koffi Abban.

In addition to the SESA, the Team also prepared a Fisheries Environmental Management Plan.

The work was undertaken over a period of four months and has been formally adopted by the Government of Ghana.
